Steps to upgrade to PSP custom firmwares

Note: Please supply power during all these process. If during these process were interrupted may cause the PSP to brick.

(A-1) To update PSP version 1.50 to version 3.52 M33:

File required (Need to be downloaded): (1), (2) and (3) from above

1) copy folder kxploitpatcher and kxploitpatcher% into MS0:/PSP/Game in the memory stick
2) Copy folder M33CREATOR into MS0:/PSP/GAME in memory stick
3) Copy downloaded PSP Firmware 1.50 Updater eBoot into folder MS0:/PSP/GAME/M33Creator and make sure it name is 150.PBP
4) Copy downloaded PSP Firmware 3.52 Updater eBoot into folder MS0:/PSP/GAME/M33Creator and make sure it name is 352.PBP
5) Disconnect the PSP from the computer
6) Execute KXPloit Patcher from the PSP XMB -> GAME -> Memory Stick
7) Execute 3.52 M33 Creator from the PSP XMB -> GAME -> Memory Stick
8) When Finished, 3.52 M33 Updater icon will be created in the PSP XMB -> GAME -> Memory Stick
9) Execute 3.52 M33 Updater from the PSP XMB -> GAME -> Memory Stick
10) When Finished and rebooted, the PSP should be updated to 3.52 M33

(A-2) To update PSP from lower custom firmware (SE, OE & M33) to version 3.52 M33:


File required (Need to be downloaded): (1), (2) and (3) from above

1) Copy folder M33CREATOR into MS0:/PSP/GAME150 in memory stick
2) Copy downloaded PSP Firmware 1.50 Updater eBoot into folder MS0:/PSP/GAME150/M33Creator and make sure it name is 150.PBP
3) Copy downloaded PSP Firmware 3.52 Updater eBoot into folder MS0:/PSP/GAME150/M33Creator and make sure it name is 352.PBP
4) Disconnect the PSP from the computer
5) Execute 3.52 M33 Creator from the PSP XMB -> GAME -> Memory Stick
6) When Finished, 3.52 M33 Updater icon will be created in the PSP XMB -> GAME -> Memory Stick
7) Execute 3.52 M33 Updater from the PSP XMB -> GAME -> Memory Stick -> 3.52 M33UPDATE
8) When Finished and rebooted, the PSP should be updated to 3.52 M33


(B) To update PSP from 3.52 M33 to version 3.52 M33 Update 4 or 3.52 M33-4:

File required (Need to be downloaded): (4) from above

1) Connect you PSP using USB
2) Extract the downloaded file
3) Copy M33Update-4 into MS0:/PSP/GAME150
4) Disconnect your PSP
5) Run the 3.52 M33 Update 4 from PSP XMB (Game -> Memory Stick -> M33 Updater)
6) When finished, the PSP should be 3.52 M33-4 version.

(C) To update PSP from 3.52 M33-4 to version 3.xx M33:


File required (Pick your CFW version that need to be downloaded):
1) For 3.71 M33 requires (5) & (6) from above
2) For 3.80 M33 requires (9) & (10) from above
3) For 3.90 M33 requires (13) & (14) from above

Notes:
1) The PSP need to be in CFW 3.52 M33-3 or above before updating to newer version of 3.xx M33.
2) Go into the recovery mode and make sure to select 3.xx Kernel as your Game Folder Homebrew for the 3.xx M33 update to work.


1) Connect you PSP using USB
2) Download the required file depend on the CFW version you wanted to update to
3) Extract the downloaded files
3) Copy folder UPDATE in MS0:/PSP/GAME
4) Copy downloaded PSP Firmware 3.xx Updater eBoot.pbp file into MS0:/PSP/GAME/UPDATE and make sure it name is in the format of 3xx.pbp
e.g: 3.71 eboot.pbp should be rename to 371.PBP, 3.80 eboot.pbp to 380.PBP etc
5) Disconnect your PSP
5) Run the 3.xx M33 from PSP XMB (Game -> Memory Stick -> PSP Update ver 3.xx M33)
Note: The Updater interface is similar to Sony Original Firmware updater. Don't worry.
6) The last step is very important or the PSP will brick, Press X or O, depend on your PSP setting, to reboot the PSP.
7) When rebooted, the PSP should be 3.xx M33 version.

(D) To update PSP from 3.xx M33 to version 3.xx M33-x or 3.xx M33 update x:

File required (Pick your CFW version that need to be downloaded):
1) For 3.71 M33 Update 4 require (7) from above
2) For 3.80 M33 Update 5 require (11) from above
3) For 3.90 M33 Update 3 require (15) from above

Note: Go into the recovery mode and make sure to select 3.xx Kernel as your Game Folder Homebrew for the 3.xx M33-x updater to work

1) Connect the PSP using USB
2) Delete folder UPDATE in MS0:/PSP/GAME if exist
3) Extract the downloaded file and copy the UPDATE folder into MS0:/PSP/GAME
4) Disconnect the PSP
5) Run the 3.xx M33-x updater from PSP XMB menu (Game -> Memory Stick -> 3.xx M33-x)
6) When finish you CFW should be updated to the newest patch

(E) *Optional* Kernel 1.50 add-on for PSP FAT version 3.xx M33 to run 1.50's homebrew (for PSP FAT only):

File required (Pick your CFW version that need to be downloaded):
1) For 3.71 M33 requires (2) & (8) from above
2) For 3.80 M33 requires (2) & (12) from above
1) For 3.90 M33 requires (2) & (16) from above

Note: Go into the recovery mode and make sure to select 3.xx Kernel as your Game Folder Homebrew for the 1.50 Kernel add-on patch to work

1) Connect the PSP using USB
2) Delete folder UPDATE in MS0:/PSP/GAME if exist
3) Extract the downloaded file and copy the UPDATE or 150k_installer folder into MS0:/PSP/GAME
4) Copy PSP Firmware 1.50 Updater eBoot.pbp into root of your memory stick MS0:/ and rename it to 150.PBP
5) Disconnect the PSP
6) Run the 1.50 Add-On patch from PSP XMB menu (Game -> Memory Stick -> PSP Update ver 1.50)
